It's like "I know the plot: this person gets kidnapped" and then in the scene, she's organizing exports of glass because the only thing her province has an abundance of is sand and how do you make glass again? Okay, so they'll need to have this and that and...

Yeah, I totally get it. That's exciting with your writing though. I think those discoveries often add to the fun. :)Loni Townsendhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05126958230703180761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3589035973172290745.post-49309904070947145332020-07-02T09:29:01.390-05:002020-07-02T09:29:01.390-05:00Definitely. Like you said, I hit an implausible idea or a new idea pops into my head and everything changes. It's kind of fun sometimes. I can't wait to see where the story takes me. And if researching causes you to have more ideas, there's nothing wrong with that. It'll make your story richer.Chemist Kenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09738272332470397248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3589035973172290745.post-41905424238132632002020-06-29T16:30:07.724-05:002020-06-29T16:30:07.724-05:00Researching always throws in new ideas and changes...Researching always throws in new ideas and changes for my writing too. ...Interesting and understandable about the science.

I don't talk much to non-writers about the characters turning out differently than I planned. They might have a difficult time understanding how something a writer created from their imagination could take on a life of its own. I worry they might think I've gone bonkers.
