This is my Insecure Writers Support Group post for March 2025.
Alex's awesome co-hosts this month are:

Please stop by their blogs and say thank you.

Thank goodness for laptops.
No, my desktop didn't die. My mom tried to. LOL
My sweet 89-year-old momma did a header onto the floor at church and banged up one of her knees. She's in a brace for now, unable to drive and needing help with most everything, so I'm staying with her for the foreseeable future.
That'll teach me to procrastinate pre-scheduling my IWSG post.
Instead of answering the March question, I decided to post a brief update.
Part of my plan for 2025 was to evaluate my social media activities and decide which to keep. On the blogging front, I plan to keep posting for IWSG, but I decided to leave Cowboy Kisses. As I told the blog hostess, it was a difficult choice and purely a business decision. She has been wonderful to work with.
I got a TON of writing done on book one of my new romance series last week. I wrote for seven days in a row and averaged 865 words per day. That's unheard of for me. I usually struggle to break 500. The difference was I had a virtually clear schedule combined with a high level of motivation.
Anytime my life goes that well, I look over my shoulder, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Enter Mom, stage left. 😁
Jesting aside, my mom is very healthy for her age, and the damage from the fall could have been much worse. All in all, we are very blessed.
I did tell her, though, if she wants to spend time with me, all she has to do is ask. 😄
What's going on in your life?
Any writing or publishing wins?
❤❤❤❤❤
IWSG is the brainchild of Alex J. Cavanaugh. It's a monthly bloghop that offers a safe haven for writers to express their feelings and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. It's also a venue for offering support, both in the form of comments and positive posts. Writers of all kinds are welcome.
We 'meet' the first Wednesday of every month. If you're interested in learning more, click on the link above. And don't be intimidated by the size of the group. We're not expected to visit everyone on the list.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI am happy that your Mom is doing okay. I am quite sure it was a shock for her as well as for you. Sounds like you're making much progress in your writing. That's great!
Shalom shalom
I'm glad your mom is okay and that you're spending time taking care of her. We all need that kind of love and care sometimes as we get older. And it's great you made so much writing progress.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad a banged knee is all that happened. My father-in-law is close to that age and still doing remarkably well.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great writing week!
Sorry to hear about your mom!
ReplyDeleteYour writing progress sounds great.
Ooof! I'm glad your mom is alright. I still have a very vivid memory of when my mom stepped out from their camper trailer and fell. Her knee hit smack on a rock and it broke her kneecap. We had to use tent poles, a tarp, and my kickboxing hand wraps to splint it so my dad could drive her to the nearest hospital. She still has a bit of a limp and can feel the weather changes coming.
ReplyDeleteI hope your mom recovers well! And I'm super glad you've got good writing progress. That's fantastic!
Ouch! I'm glad she doing well. I also know it will take some time to heal.
ReplyDeleteBut awesome on the writing progress!
Hope your mother recovers soon. Fall over in church? It happens. We in our church have had to spend several grand levelling a ledge in the church floor, because congregation members drinking coffee after church kept pitching over it in their chairs. But, out of routine and away from normal chores, what a great opportunity to write.
ReplyDeleteI hope your mom recovers soon. Great word count on your writing front.
