The Customer Is Always Right

I was thrust into the world of social media rather suddenly, and I've been flying by the seat of my pants when it comes to blogging. I'd like to know what you think--what you like and what you don't. Please take a moment to vote in the following four polls, and then feel free to elaborate in the comments section.

As with other polls I've taken, my one request is that you either vote in all of the polls in this group or none of them. Thanks. :)

  1. Gosh. Who would thrust you into the world of social media like that? *Grins*

  2. Fun! I like polls especially when we get to see the results right away. (:

  3. Voted on all. :) Lately it seems I'm in social media breakdown. Is that possible? Today is the first time, I've opened my blog or checked fb.

    1. I've been busy and not my usual social self either. I've got to get a schedule going and stick to it. :)

    1. Glad you voted! And don't worry about the follow thing. (It's me, not you. LOL) My Follower gadget was broken for a long time. I only recently fixed it. :)

  5. Great pollls, Melissa!

I don't follow any random blog...I first gotta like the blog, writer's voice, blog design (something that welcomes me in), the personality of the blogger and most importantly, they gotta be writer otherwise I won't know what to comment about. I follow mostly writer's blogs because they intrigue me for their each individual reasons. I wouldn't be following your blog, Melissa, if it weren't for those things.

I don't care about the blogger's blogging schedule...the blog just has to intrigue me in some way or another.

    Wonderful post! :)

  6. I voted (can I have my little oval sticker, please.)

My one comment... I *dislike* how Wordpress makes you jump through hoops to follow their peeps and wish they had a simple "Follow" button a la Blogger.

    1. Here's your sticker. *smooths it onto your shirt with a little pat* :)

I agree. If I want to follow someone with a Wordpress blog, I'm forced to follow by email.

Of course, they used to have access to Blogger's 'Follower' gadget. It was Google who took that away. :( ...And broke my BLOGGER blog Follower gadget in the process. Grrrr.

    2. I agree you're forced into following a Wordpress blog by email. I don't follow any Wordpress blogs, anyway. I only read one Wordpress blog.

Yes, yes, Wordpress blog layout is so professional but it doesn't have to be.

Blogger allows you to make your blog how you want it to be and you can follow nearly any Blogger blog. I also love Blogger's organized and perhaps, fun layout. Blogger gives you plenty of options to choose from and that's what I like. They even let you "unfollow" blogs unlike Wordpress, you probably can't get out of your following. :)

  7. Essentially, it all comes down to one thing. If its a good blog, I will visit as often as the individual posts. :-)

  8. I voted and found the results interesting. It's reassuring that my random posting schedule and random topic selection won't turn away too many people. To me, randomness is part of the fun!

Do I have to vote again to see the final tally? Or might you share the results in an upcoming post?

You're doing great with the blog, BTW. :)

    1. Thanks, Kristen! :D

No. You don't have to vote again. Just click on the words 'view results' at the bottom of each poll. You can do that any time you want, as often as you want. ;)

  9. I voted and tweeted about this post. Hope more people stop by. The results are intriguing.

  10. Post frequency has gone down for me. I prefer to follow bloggers who post only 1-3 times a week. Less than that, I tend to lose track of. More than that, I feel bad because I can't visit them every single day.

  11. I love the schedule because I know I'm going to be at your blog on Mondays - and it's a great way to start my week. :)

  12. @Natasha - Thank you! Agree. I love polls. :)

    @Lynda - I'm with you 100%.

@Pegg - Wow! What a kind thing to say! :)
(...and don't worry. GPM isn't going anywhere. I like schedules, too.)
