July 6th Question: If you could live in any book world, which one would you choose.

The first book that came to mind was Little House on the Prairie. I grew up watching that show, and I've always felt like I was born a century too late. Funny thing, though...I recently found the series on a free streaming channel and watched it again. Life back then wasn't as rosy as I remember.

Books often romanticize times gone by. Regardless of what we tell ourselves, each setting and decade has its challenges. I would choose a simpler, farm-like life in the 1800s...if I could take along some penicillin and my A/C.

Small win last month...

A couple of weeks after releasing Fool's Iron, I put my western series into KU. I had resisted doing it for a long time because of the low payout, but I'm glad I did. It didn't hurt my e-book sales like I thought it would. It only added to my royalties. 

Little by little, I'm reviving my author biz. :)

A friend has a new book. 

Elizabeth Seckman just released About Her: A Second Chance Romance.

Liz is known for writing imperfect characters and awesome dialogue, and she bested herself in About Her. I blew through this well-paced story and loved every minute of it. I kid you not - I laughed so hard in places I nearly peed myself. 

I joked with Liz that a couple of the scenes could have taken place on the lakeside couch in Ozark. Don't read if you can't handle dysfunctional families, snark, and a touch of profanity.
