Purpose: A platform building opportunity
for writers of all kinds.
(Think,
‘cyber meet-and-greet with social media links for business cards.’)
When: September 22nd thru 26th, 2014.
How: Create a blog post using the
guide provided and sign up on the Linky list any day during FollowFest week, after your post goes live.
(To make things easier, there will be only one Linky list this year.)
During the week of the fest, visit other blogs and connect with as many writers as you wish.

Aw. You missed Follow Fest '14.
But that's okay. You can still hop the links and meet other writers.
Thanks for visiting. :)
Check back next year.
Thanks for sharing this, Melissa! I was visiting Quanie's blog when I came across this wonderful opportunity for authors to meet. I will be back to read more and hope to participate!
ReplyDeleteJust learned of this from ML Swift's post. Looking forward to joining in after work. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat! I hope you both can participate. :)
ReplyDeleteOops - forgot about this. I've added my link for this Friday, though I have another thing to post for that day too ;)
ReplyDeleteAaaand I just realised I didn't do the permalink thingy. Sorry :( If I give you my URL on the day can you edit the link for me, or if necessary just delete the link and I'll put it up again when I have my post scheduled.
ReplyDeleteNo worries! I can fix that!
Delete...done. :)
Great idea. Just saw this on Elise Fallson's blog. Have a great blog hop!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kim! There's still time to sign up if you want to participate. :)
DeleteGot your email, but I also sent one. What does "no-reply" blogger mean? And how do I change that? Always something new to learn and I have definitely learned a lot here today.
ReplyDeleteCan the original incorrect or incomplete link be deleted and the second one I put in be posted? I think I did it right the second time.
I emailed you. :)
DeleteThanks again for organizing this, Melissa!
ReplyDeleteYou bet! I was happy to do it.
DeleteFollow Fest was a lot of work, but I had fun, too. :)
Hi Melissa, Thank you from the other Fowler ( : It was wonderful to meet you and so many other writers this week!
ReplyDeleteSame to you! :)
DeleteUnfortunately i missed this :(
ReplyDeleteWill you be doing another one at some stage? Would love to take part!
xx
Yes! I'm planning a Follow Fest '14.
DeleteBut you can still hop the links from this year. ;)
Was psyched up about this and tweeted it in support. Hmm, lots to do and think about. I want to do it but looks like quite a bit of work is involved. Love the idea though! Thanks Melissa. I'm hoping I can participate.
ReplyDeleteIt's easier than it looks. You just build a post with the items that apply to you, link all your follow options (can be combo of post and sidebar), then--once your post launches--come back to my blog and sign up on the Linky. After that, you hop around as you have time and visit as many other writers as you want to. :)
DeleteHey Melissa!
ReplyDeleteIs there a code to grab the button?
Oy. Sorry. There isn't. You just have to do an image gadget and link it.
DeleteI can try to make one, but I'm not very good at it.
Thanks for the time and trouble it must take to set this up and babysit it. It's a generous thing to do.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ellen. It gets a little crazy during Follow Fest week, but other than that, it's not so bad. I have fun with it. :)
DeleteOkay. I think I've got it all figured out. I will delete the stuff in parenthesis- I have left them before, so it was good to point that out! And I now know what a permalink is. I'm smarter today, thanks!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! :D
DeleteI'm accidentally on this list twice. I'm not sure how that happened. But, thanks for setting up a great event!
ReplyDeleteNo worries. Fixed!
DeleteAnd you're welcome! :)
