That’s easy. I met someone in the late 80s who was the older brother I never had. He’s the poster child for friendship and the reason I’m still around.

Deep Space Drama

.     Brody strode toward the console and dropped into the seat next to Dakes. “Where’s Cavanaugh?”

.     “Dunno.” The guardian kept punching buttons and flipping levers, never looking away. 

.     “I’m growing tired of coming in on my day off.” Brody studied the screen and took over. “Had plans with Joya. He owes me.” 

.     “You know how it is during IWSG. By the gods!” Dakes slammed his hand onto the launcher and shot a cosbolt at the giant meteor hurling toward them. He sighed as it disintegrated in a fiery shower. “That was close."

.     “Grubby little ninja,” Brody growled. “I’ll be feeding him his guitar when he gets back.”
