November 3rd question: What's harder to do, coming up with your book title or writing the blurb?

Sometimes I know the title of a WIP right away, and other times, it comes to me as I write the story. The title of Precious Atonement came from a line in the book.

Regardless, the blurb takes much more effort. I have to consider the overall message, tone and key words, and then, I have to polish till it shines.

Thanks for visiting.

IWSG is the brainchild of Alex J. Cavanaugh. It's a monthly bloghop that offers a safe haven for writers to express their feelings and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. It's also a venue for offering  support, both in the form of comments and positive posts. Writers of all kinds are welcome.

We 'meet' the first Wednesday of every month. If you're interested in learning more, click on the link above. And don't be intimidated by the size of the group. We're not expected to visit everyone on the list

  2. That's great that your title came to you when you were writing. I hope mine comes soon because I'm almost done with my manuscript.

  5. Hi,
So true. The blurb takes a lot of effort. I have to put the manuscript aside for a week or two before I tackle the blurb.

  12. I always know the title of whatever I'm working on. But blurbs are exactly as you describe - hard work, that needs polishing.

  13. Blurbs positively take much, much more effort, Melissa. I come up with titles, sometimes right away. All best to you, my dear!

  14. Yeah, getting all that in a measly paragraph(ish) is hard.

  15. The shorter it is the harder it is to get it right. Blurbs....grr.
