February IWSG 2022 - Jeremy Hawkins Tribute

This is my Insecure Writers Support Group post for February 2022.

The question this month asked about people who've supported or influenced our writing, namely someone who isn't around anymore or someone we miss.

I'm lucky that the people who set me on my journey and those who support me along the way are still living. My mother is a one-woman cheering squad and my proofreader. I don't even want to think about losing her, and that has nothing to do with the cost of hiring out the blessing of a service she provides.

The creative world recently experienced a significant loss, though. On January 3rd, Jeremy Hawkins passed away. I didn't know Jeremy well, because we ran in different circles, but I never heard anything but great things about him.

If you'd like to do something in memory of Jeremy, consider supporting his family by purchasing one of his t-shirt designs, one of his books, or one of his prints. He also created the IWSG t-shirt.

❤❤❤❤❤

IWSG is the brainchild of Alex J. Cavanaugh. It's a monthly bloghop that offers a safe haven for writers to express their feelings and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. It's also a venue for offering  support, both in the form of comments and positive posts. Writers of all kinds are welcome.

We 'meet' the first Wednesday of every month. If you're interested in learning more, click on the link above. And don't be intimidated by the size of the group. We're not expected to visit everyone on the list
