This is my Insecure Writers Support Group post for May 2022.
& Me!
Please stop by their blogs and say thank you.
💻💻💻💻💻
I'm glad I was able to co-host this month, because I have a big announcement, and I want you all here to celebrate with me! But first, my post for IWSG.
May 4 question - It's the best of times; it's the worst of times. What are your writer highs (the good times)? And what are your writer lows (the crappy times)?
I'll take those in reverse. My writer lows are when life gets in the way and keeps me from writing, or when I have a plot problem I can't seem to overcome.
My writer highs are when I write 1,000 words in one day,
when one of my books receives a good review,
when I do something that helps an aspiring author,
when I type THE END on a WIP,
and...
when I upload a finished book and click publish!
The next historical western in my Forging America series is up for preorder!!!
Fool's Iron is a story of betrayal and redeeming love set in 1850s
Indiana.
The
way to a man’s heart is through his ego.
The
way to a woman’s heart is through her child.
Debutante Magdalene Rose
Meriwether’s fall from grace and banishment from Indianapolis society left her
shocked and heartbroken—and hellbent on salvaging what was left of her life. Her problems can
be solved if she finds a husband in time. But, most important of all, her unborn
child won’t suffer the life of a bastard.
Railroad
construction worker Edgar Grimes spent his formative years raising his brother
and holding a crumbling family together. He lost his mother to abuse, lost the
only woman who’d ever favored him to another man, and lost his simple-minded brother
to a life of crime. The same booze that washed his father into ruin is Edgar’s
means of coping with a life not much worth living—until he finds a well-dressed
woman marching through the woods.
Edgar poses as Maggie’s
husband while she searches for a real one. Will she play him for the fool his
father always told him he was, or will Edgar be the champion Maggie needs?

To celebrate, book one is on sale for 99c.

One more thing before I go:
I was recently asked to join Cowboy Kisses as a contributing author. The invitation was out of the blue, but the timing was perfect. I'm honored to join this group of talented authors. I'm scheduled to post there on the second Friday of every month. If you enjoy western romance of any kind, consider following the blog.
Thanks for visiting.
Before you go, tell me what's been going on in your corner of the writing world!
❤❤❤❤❤
IWSG is the brainchild of Alex J. Cavanaugh. It's a monthly bloghop that offers a safe haven for writers to express their feelings and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. It's also a venue for offering support, both in the form of comments and positive posts. Writers of all kinds are welcome. We 'meet' the first Wednesday of every month. If you're interested in learning more, click on the link above. And don't be intimidated by the size of the group. We're not expected to visit everyone on the list.

ReplyDeleteWriting a thousand words in a day would certainly be a high for me. The low would come the next day when I looked back over those words and realize how much work it will take to put them into a readable form. Sigh....
Thanks for co-hosting IWSG this month!
Hahahaha. I know, right? Thanks for visiting. :)
DeleteA definite yes to all those highs and lows. Congrats on your upcoming book release! It's always so satisfying to send another book out into the world. Thank you for co-hosting!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteCongratulations on your new release! Fake relationship turning all too real is one of my favorite tropes. And thank you for co-hosting this month!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the invite. That really shows you how successful you are, when others search you out as an expert.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about 'expert.' LOL Thanks for visiting.
DeleteCongrats! Clicking publish is certainly a high, but has a certain stomach dropping quality too. I suppose we have to embrace that bundle of emotions.
ReplyDeleteGrats on Fool's Iron and the invite! You're definitely an author who deserves it. Sorry it's taken me so long to visit for IWSG.
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting this month!
ReplyDeleteMy writing highs are when I'm able to put the words 'the end' at the of a story. And making a breakthrough in my story after getting stuck (which lately has been a constant).
Congrats on the book!
